S1 Week 12: The Gymnast

 Dear parents,

I hope this message finds you well! Please see below for an overview of what we worked on in class today, as well as the homework assigned.

 You will notice that I have assigned vocabulary for students to study at home. As we move forward and spend more class time on more challenging concepts, I hope to help students build independence by having them learn the vocabulary on their own. At the A2 level, I trust in their abilities, and many students have already shown that they can preview and study these words effectively.

Please remind your child to pay attention to each word’s part of speech and ensure the definition makes sense to them. If they are unsure about any vocabulary word, they should bring their questions to class the following day so I can review it with them. If I notice that any Chinese definitions are inaccurate, I will inform you as soon as possible.

Here is what we completed on Monday:

  • Handed back vocabulary quiz from Friday.
  • Went over the the notes page.

Here is what we completed on Tuesday:

  • #25 "show-off" definition is referring to a verb, but this is a noun. The correct definition is someone who tries to get attention from others (愛炫耀的人，喜歡賣弄的人)
  • #10 "vinyl" Chinese definition is wrong. It should be referring to the vinyl material (乙烯基（塑料)). Our story talks about "vinyl shoes"
