Week 1: Welcome Back!

Dear parents,

Welcome back to school! I hope you and your families had a restful break and are excited to begin a new school year.

Here are a few important notes to help us start the year smoothly:

  • Although we didn’t have class on the first day of school, students received their materials, including the Reading Street textbook, the Reader’s and Writer’s Notebook (RWN), Bubble Books, and science books. All materials were labeled in class.
  • Our first day of instruction will be Tuesday, September 2nd.
  • Please note that we will have a vocabulary quiz on Friday.

Below are some helpful resources for the first week of school:

I’m looking forward to a fantastic year ahead! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued support!

S1 Week 13: The Skunk Ladder

Please see below for an overview of what we worked on in class today, as well as the homework assigned.  You will notice that I have assigned vocabulary for students to study at home. As we move forward and spend more class time on more challenging concepts, I hope to help students build independence by having them learn the vocabulary on their own. At the A2 level, I trust in their abilities, and many students have already shown that they can preview and study these words effectively. Please remind your child to pay attention to each word’s part of speech and ensure the definition makes sense to them. If they are unsure about any vocabulary word, they should bring their questions to class the following day so I can review it with them. If I notice that any Chinese definitions are inaccurate, I will inform you as soon as possible.  Thank you for your support and understanding! Below are some helpful resources for the thi...
