S1 Week 4 - Tripping Over the Lunch Lady

   Dear parents,

I hope this message finds you well! Please see below for an overview of what we worked on in class today, as well as the homework assigned.

Here is what we completed on Monday:

  • We also introduced the vocabulary #1-15
  • Briefly read our story

Here is what we completed on Tuesday:

  • We introduced the vocabulary #16-30
  • Continued to read our story

Here is what we completed on Wednesday:

  • We went over pronouns and antecedents.
  • We finished the story.
  • We went over the notes page and worked through challenging questions together.
  • We also worked on our first writing task.

Here is what we completed on Thursday:

  • We did an RWN page.
  • We completed a plot map for Tripping Over the Lunch Lady
  • We did a review game for our test tomorrow.
    • Test Scope for tomorrow: 
      • Vocabulary (listen and match; fill-in-the-blank; classify)
      • Conventions - Pronouns and Antecedents (identify and correct to the correct pronoun)
      • Story comprehension (sequencing; true or false; multiple choice; short answer)
        • Review the notes pages, story, and other resources to prepare well for the exam tomorrow.

Here is what we completed on Friday:

  • We took our unit test.

S1 Week 13: The Skunk Ladder

  Dear parents, I hope this message finds you well! Please see below for an overview of what we worked on in class today, as well as the homework assigned.  You will notice that I have assigned vocabulary for students to study at home. As we move forward and spend more class time on more challenging concepts, I hope to help students build independence by having them learn the vocabulary on their own. At the A2 level, I trust in their abilities, and many students have already shown that they can preview and study these words effectively. Please remind your child to pay attention to each word’s part of speech and ensure the definition makes sense to them. If they are unsure about any vocabulary word, they should bring their questions to class the following day so I can review it with them.
